Authorities indicate that it is important for drivers to slow down and exercise caution near school areas; but above all that parents pay attention, be very careful and avoid sending their children to school alone when they are very young.
After the traffic accident that occurred in the community of Juan Díaz, in the province of Coclé, where three minors aged 12, 11 and 7 were injured, the sub-directorate of traffic operations of the province in charge of Major Erick Rodríguez gave important recommendations for pedestrians and especially parents.
Rodríguez indicated that it is important for drivers to slow down and exercise caution near school areas; but above all that parents pay attention, be very careful and avoid sending their children to school alone when they are very young.
“To the parents of families who are attentive to our children, mainly those who are of school age, in primary education who still do not measure the responsibility of being attentive to the crossing of roads in a safe way, they must make the necessary recommendations that once stay to the side of the road, wait until the vehicles are at a safe distance to be able to cross safely,” he said, emphasizing that it is also important that students and people who use public transport, once they get off of the buses, wait for the vehicle to move and have an accurate view of the road and thus make the crossing.
It should be noted that the three minors from the Juan Día de Antón school remain, one of them delicate and the other stable after this traffic accident. The community demands that the authorities take action in this regard because it is not the first time that students from this educational center located in Antón, a tourist area that is very popular, have been run over.
