Through a statement, the National Assembly (AN) expressed its “strongest repudiation” of the assassination attempt of the Vice President of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, perpetrated this Thursday night in front of her home.
The document was released this Friday by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, on his account on the social network Twitter, to express the position of the Legislative Power of Venezuela “in the face of the reprehensible frustrated assassination against the Vice President of the Argentine Republic, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
In addition, it expresses its unconditional solidarity with Cristina Fernández and the Argentine Nation.
The text signed by the president of the AN, warns that the “abominable event constitutes a very serious violation of the most elementary principles of democratic societies and obviously seeks to attack the peace of the brother Argentine people.”
It adds that it is a criminal action that takes place in a context of political persecution by actors of the Justice System who brazenly develop “an interventionist agenda against Democracy and Argentine sovereignty.”
“We urge to preserve and protect life, peace and peaceful coexistence in this sister Latin American people, while we demand that all rigorous investigations and procedures be carried out to establish the truth of what happened, determine those responsible materially and intellectuals, as well as imposing exemplary sanctions”.
