The ex-owner of Ministry of Transport and Communications, John Silvaa fugitive from justice, has not fled the country and is in Peru, his lawyer, Alfredo Yalán, assured this Friday.
In statements to RPP, the lawyer pointed out that it is “not serious” information about an alleged escape to Venezuela, collected by the weekly Hildebrandt en sus trece and attributed to an alleged informant of the special team led by Harvey Colchado.
“I think it is not serious information. I have always said it and I repeat it: my client is safe in a constitutional and social state such as Peru and he does not have to escape ”assured.

“[¿Dice que esta información es falsa?] That’s right, it’s fake. Specifically and it’s nothing serious because an informant says […] but whose informant, what code? Any”he reiterated.
Alfredo Yalán also rejected the claim that Juan Silva hid in an apartment in Jesús María in June of this year and that he was caught on a security camera.
“I have communication with my client but I cannot say when, but it is recent, due to the professional secrecy that exists, and he has told me all his life that he trusts the authorities […] Yes, it is in Peru and we are only waiting for the result of the financial accounting expert opinion that the National Prosecutor’s Office has ordered.”, insisted the lawyer.
Yalán also pointed out again that they do not rule out the possibility that former minister Silva submits to the effective collaboration process, in case the Public Ministry “conclusively demonstrates” that he would be involved in a crime.
