The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, yesterday led the ceremony for the promotion of 2,359 members of the national armed forces.
Among the soldiers promoted throughout the country are 1,774 sub-lieutenants, who became lieutenants; 433 sergeants to second lieutenants; 147 soldiers, sergeants and corporals who received the rank of second lieutenant, as well as five officers, within the veteranization contest.
This act, held at the Sedena José Pedraza soccer stadium, was attended by 54 elements, of which 36 are from the Mexican Army, nine from the Mexican Air Force and nine more from the National Guard, of the 2,359 promoted to national scale.
Simultaneously, different ceremonies were carried out in the various territorial commands. The personnel were promoted by having obtained the highest marks in the professional aptitude tests called special promotion competitions, specialist first sergeants exams and reclassification.
The head of the Sedena handed out promotion badges to soldiers distinguished by their seniority in the ranks and after passing various physical and knowledge tests.
