Cancelled. Antauro Humala Tasso, ethnocacerist leader who was released from prison last August 20was going to give an interview to the international chain CNN with the Mexican journalist Fernando del Rincon in his program “Conclusions”. Nevertheless, this was canceled due to coverage in Argentina for the attack against the vice president of that country, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
“Today I had an interview scheduled with Antauro Humala, brother of President Ollanta Humalawhich has just recently been released. I have to apologize to my guest Antauro Humala because this situation that is being experienced in Argentina is on the agendaIt’s breaking news,” said the press man.
Next, Del Rincón added: “I hope your understanding, I hope the understanding of Peruvians around thisand tell the lord Antauro Humala, if you are seeing me right now, that space is still open for you. We will have to reschedule the interview, but in no way is it a censorship situation.”
In this sense, the journalist stressed that Antauro Humala deserves to have “an entire program” for which he requested that said broadcast be rescheduled.
“It would be unfair to have him here in the middle of coverage that undoubtedly carries great weight right now. An apology to my guest Antauro Humala and we hope to have him here soon”, he narrowed down.
Humala Tasso left the Ancón II prisonwhere he remained confined for more than 17 years after being sentenced for the crimes of homicide, kidnapping and rebellion committed during the Andahuaylazo.
Several congressmen questioned the decision of the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) after freeing the brother of former president Ollanta Humala, who was involved in the death of four police officers in 2005 and for which he was sentenced in 2009. On the other hand, it was also learned that the debt to which it amounts the civil compensation to be paid by Humala is 1,238,000 soles.
For his part, Antauro Humala said he was proud of the Andahuaylazo, a rebellion he led, and for which he was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
“We are outside and I can tell you that we feel very proud of what we did in Andahuaylas. The courts have not yet, but the facts prove us right. Where are the presidents we rebelled against 17 years ago? Toledo, fugitive, prisoner, corrupt and thief. Kuczynski, who was a minister in Toledo during the Andahuaylazo, just the same, ”he pointed out.
