The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus, stated that in the area under his charge “the funds will be respected” and “there will be no adjustment”.
He said this when leading a meeting of the Interinstitutional Council for Science and Technology (CICyT), where it was agreed to hold the next meeting in October at the Marambio Base in Argentine Antarctica, it was officially reported.
“We are working in an articulated way and it shows. Reaching Antarctica is very good and that everyone participates in the framework of the CICyT. It is important to show the effort we are making and the strategic growth,” said Filmus.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Council, Juan Pablo Paz, and the Undersecretary of Institutional Coordination, Pablo Nuñez, as well as authorities from science and technology organizations from all over the country,
In addition, the meeting discussed inter-institutional projects with a focus on strategic issues under lines of research shared by science and technology organizations; ongoing programs such as the Plan to Strengthen the Human Resources of Science and Technology Organizations, and Building and Equipping Science.
For his part, Paz pointed to the losses suffered by INTI during the previous period and said that “today we are at a different stage, building and working with INTI colleagues for development that is based on knowledge, and this is part of the Council agenda.
The president of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), Ruben Geneyro, thanked the Ministry of Science for the enormous support to the Institute: “In another stage we lost 855 workers, today we have recovered part of the capacities. 2020 was one of repair recovering 160 dismissed workers. Thanks to the national government for betting on science and technology. The level of impact at the budget level is impressive. It is a very valuable process,” he emphasized.
And he highlighted the Build and Equip Science programs.
In turn, Nuñez affirmed that “INTI was one of the organizations hardest hit by the previous administration and that it grew in 12 years together with CONICET and INTA. It is important to come to INTI since it reflects the growth of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation”.
