At the initiative of the deputies Rocío Abed, and Justo Zacarías, the plenary of the Lower House approved, on tables, a draft declaration “Which urges the Executive Branch – Ministry of the Interior – National Police Command, to build and/or authorization of hospitals in the departmental capitals”.
The regulations are based on Law No. 5,062/13, “That creates the health care service for National Police personnel”; and Law No. 222, “Organic Law of the National Police; and amendment, regulation No. 5,757”, according to the statement of reasons.
It also explains that according to the aforementioned regulations, “officers, non-commissioned officers, and active and retired civilian personnel, and their families, with the right to a pension, will have the right to health care services.”
The document stipulates that students of police training institutes would also have the right to health care in these hospitals; and the need to cover the medical assistance of those subject to current regulations, in a timely and effective manner, is emphasized.
To this end, the deputies urge the Executive Power – Ministry of the Interior – National Police Command, “the construction and/or fitting out of hospitals in the departmental capitals, in order to cover the needs for immediate and comprehensive care.”
