In the run-up to Christmas, precisely on December 23, Valentina Orellana Peralta, a 14-year-old Chilean girl, was hit by a bullet while she was shopping in a store in California, United States. A crazy bullet was what took the life of this teenager who was shopping with her mother.
The incident occurred after the police were notified of the presence of a man who was with a bicycle chain, attacking several people, including a woman who was beaten on several occasions by this subject.
When the police forces arrived at the scene and after detecting the man who was causing havoc, one of the policemen fired. At that moment, the subject fell to the ground and was handcuffed by the authorities.

A still from the video released by the same police shows how a bullet hits one of the fitting rooms where Valentina was with her mother, going through the wall and hitting her body, dying immediately on the spot.
This caused outrage in Los Angeles and put the police at the target of criticism for the negligent action carried out that cost the Chilean teenager her life. Domingo García, president of the League of United Latin American Citizens, commented that “it is unacceptable for trained Los Angeles police officers to open fire on a crowded store at the height of Christmas without being sure that the suspect was armed.”
The Local Police Department has already ordered the investigation of what happened.
