The Executive Committee of the MLN-Tupamaros National Liberation Movement issued a statement through which it expresses its support and solidarity with the Argentine people and their political and social organizations mobilized in defense of the rule of law, and denouncing the “political persecution carried out by actors of the Judiciary, against the vice president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner”.

“This political operation, which we have already seen used as an identical recipe throughout the continent, and which uses judges, prosecutors and a brutal onslaught of the mass media, works like a clamp that, like an Inquisition court, condemns without evidence and stone the ‘condemned’ pointing to their public death”, denounced the MLN-T.

In this sense, the Tupamaros warn of the danger of naturalizing this type of act.

Judge, gendarme and executioner

The MLN affirms that “the intentional use of the powers of the State as police, judge, gendarme and executioner, is a serious fact that cannot continue to be the card played to destroy a political option.”

“Well then, a wake-up call for all of us who continue to believe in building a fairer and more supportive society,” says the MLN-T in its political declaration.
