The Batlle y Ordóñez Institute, linked to the Colorado Party, and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, of German Liberalism, begin their political training courses next Friday, September 2, with a weekend dedicated to political issues, which will be followed by on the following two weekends, social and historical themes.
The first session will be held tomorrow, at 6:30 p.m., by Eduardo Alonso, PhD in Political Science, who will analyze the subject of liberalism and republicanism, and Dr. Ope Pasquet, liberal philosophy and the concept of secularism. The opening words will be given by Dr. Julio María Sanguinetti and Mrs. Nadia Barrozo, for the organizing entities.
The course includes six days, on September 2 and 3, 9 and 10 and 16 and 17; It is free and will be held in person at the Casa del Partido Colorado. Participants will also be able to do so through the Zoom platform. Throughout the indicated dates, about twenty exhibitors will speak, with a subsequent space for questions.
In the topics of political science, in addition to those mentioned, Dr. José Garchitorena, Mag. Alejandro Guedes, Graduates Virginia Coitinho and Cecilia Flores, Graduates Nicolás Álvarez and Christian Nieves and the Master in Philosophy Horacio Bernardo will participate. In the public policy module, the Economists Isaac Alfie and Julio de Brun, Drs. Didier Operti and Nicolás Albertoni, Dr. Adriana Aristimuño, Mag. Diosma Piotti, Mr. Santiago Torres and Drs. Ricardo Pascale and Ignacio Munyo. The historical topics, in turn, will be dictated by the Graduates Oscar Padrón Favre and Ernesto Castellanos, the journalist Nelson Fernández, Prof. Manuel Flores Silva and Dr. Julio María Sanguinetti.
