A study commissioned by the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) a Consultores Option reveals that the vast majority of the Uruguayan population perceives itself as “little” or “not at all” informed on the educational transformation plan promoted by the government.

Those who declare in this way are 75% of the population. Only 4% say they are “very” informed and the remaining 18% “fairly” informed.

The study reveals that there is a strong segmentation by electorate in the degree of support for educational transformation: while 73% of coalition voters support itthis is only done by 28% of the electorate of the Broad Front.

The investigation you agreed to The Observer details that the 59% of the population considers that teachers should spend at least three years in schools; 33% consider that they should be able to choose the center where they work year after year. 8% do not know/do not answer.

The research indicates that 73% are in favor of providing greater financial and administrative autonomy to the centers; 21% disagree.

Regarding the curricular autonomy of educational centers, there is parity in the answers. Today 48% prefer to increase the autonomy of educational centers and adapt the teaching proposal according to the needs of each community. Meanwhile, 47% prefer to maintain the same teaching proposal in all educational centers in the country. 4% do not know/do not answer.
