Forest fires have already destroyed 70,545 hectares in the department of Santa Cruzaccording to the latest report of the Forest Fire Early Warning System, informed the ai director of Natural Resources of the Governorate, Yovenka Rosado.
The municipalities most affected by the fire are San José, San Ignacio de Velasco and San Miguel. East Wednesday, 16 forest fires were reported in 12 municipalities of the department.
“We have a fire in the valley area, more specifically in Mairana and Samaipata, while in Cordillera there are fires in Camiri, Charagua and Gutiérrez; in the Chiquitana the fires are in Concepción, San Ignacio, Puerto Suárez, San Antonio del Lomerío. There are also in El Torno, San Carlos, La Guardia and in the metropolitan area of Santa Cruz,” Rosado said.
The SATIF registered this Wednesday 102 new sources of burning, adding 3,317 sources this month and an accumulated in the present management of 17,549 outbreaks. The municipalities with the highest concentration are: San José, Santa Rosa del Sara, Concepción, San Ignacio de Velasco and San Miguel, which result in 73% of the department being at extreme risk of forest fires.
According to Rosado, the Government has moved forest fire brigades with all the specialized logistics to each of the registered fire points. To report fires, the free line 800 14 81 39 is enabled.
