In a press conference held this morning, Hugo Estigarribia confirmed that the movement he created after leaving the Colorado Party made the decision to withdraw from the Coalition project.
He himself recalled that they had joined this group of opposition parties last June “as a great political force that intends to change the country,” but once inside they learned of a series of situations with which they did not agree.
One of them has to do with the previous agreements signed between the PLRA and other minor parties to occupy the first places in the lists of candidates for the National Congress, without giving them the opportunity to fight for relevant seats.
“They gave us some filler places through the Christian Democratic Party and the Party of A. Some of our senatorial candidates have given up those places because they are figurative, the first places are the ones that determine the space of a political force,” held.
Apart from this, he commented that they could not present a programmatic proposal either because there is no government plan by the Coalition, ensuring that the Republicans “do not feel represented” in this sector.
He accused Efraín Alegre, the current pre-candidate for the presidency whose duo is Soledad Núñez, of wanting to impose “his agenda” on other sectors, as happened with the Guasú Front.
“We left the Colorado Party looking for a healthy space and we found more of the same,” he said.
It should be remembered that the National Coalition has already suffered the departure of most of the parties and movements that make up the Guasú Front, as well as that of the National Crusade movement.
