Former Vice Minister Víctor Aular arrested for embezzlement from PDVSA

This Tuesday, the former Vice Minister of Finance, Víctor Aular, of the former Ministry for Energy and Petroleum, was arrested for the embezzlement of almost five billion dollars from the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) perpetrated by the fugitive from justice, Rafael Ramírez. .

The information was released by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, in his account in the Twitter social network.

The arrest occurred after the request made by the Minister for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, to the Public Ministry (MP) in order to initiate an investigation into the corruption plot led by Ramírez in 2012.

“Victor Aular, who came to occupy the position of Vice Minister of Finance during the criminal management of Rafael Ramirez, was arrested: said subject signed the loan contract with the Atlantic Administrator, responsible for an embezzlement of close to 5,000 million dollars,” the prosecutor specified. .

MP initiated investigation in PDVSA

The Public Ministry began the investigation against Rafael Ramírez for leading the most serious corruption scheme in the oil industry, denounced by the Minister of Popular Power for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami.

This was announced by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, from his Twitter social network account, after receiving from Minister El Aissami the evidence that implicates Ramírez in this plot.

“After receiving from the hands of the President of PDVSA, Tareck El Aissami, the respective complaint about a new plot of oil corruption that links a group of individuals led by former Minister Ramírez, we have initiated the investigation with the necessary procedures. » wrote the attorney general.

El Aissami presented to the Public Ministry evidence of a mega fraud committed by Ramírez against Petróleos de Venezuela, and asked the attorney general to initiate an investigation and order his international capture.

At a press conference from the headquarters of the Public Ministry, in Caracas, El Aissami reported that the tests and evidence consigned to the attorney general reveal the “most serious corruption plot ever known against our oil industry.”

The Oil Minister described the operation as a mega fraud and a mega robbery orchestrated directly by Rafael Ramírez, who is a fugitive from justice.
