The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, you will be questioned by the Attorney General, Zoraida Ávalos, this Tuesday 28 within the framework of the investigation that is being followed by the alleged pressures that would have been exerted from the Executive power in the process of promotions of the Armed forces.
It should be noted that the head of state was initially summoned for December 29, however, through an official letter, he requested rescheduling because he had an activity scheduled for that date. The procedure will be carried out at the headquarters of the Government Palace.
This diligence is carried out as part of the investigation that the National Prosecutor opened on November 11 against the former Defense Minister Walter Ayala Gonzales, the former Secretary General of the Presidential Office, Bruno Pacheco, and those who are responsible for the alleged crimes of abuse of authority and illegal patronage.

Walter Ayala and Bruno Pacheco are being investigated for having allegedly exerted pressure on the former general commanders of the Peruvian Army and Air Force in order to favor some officers in the promotion process this year.
The alleged pressure on the Armed Forces
At the beginning of November, the former general commander of the Army, José Vizcarra Álvarez, denounced that Ayala, Pacheco and also Castillo Terrones pressured him to irregularly promote military personnel close to the government, including colonels EP Ciro Bocanegra Loayza and Carlos Sánchez Cahuancama.
Vizcarra Álvarez gave the Public Ministry a set of WhatsApp conversations that he exchanged with the head of state, through which he asked him to coordinate “urgent issues” with Pacheco on the promotion process in the Armed Forces. And he also suggested promoting Commander EP Víctor Hugo Torres Quispe to Colonel.
