After the death of a 4-month-old baby, prosecutors Rita Prieto and Andrea Vera intervened in said case. The autopsy of the victim’s body is scheduled for tomorrow, so that it can be carried out as a judicial advance of evidence and find out the cause of death.
Prosecutor Rita Prieto reported that the arrest of a man was ordered who, according to the mother, would have said, he would be the author of the act. He was arrested and must testify before the Public Ministry.
According to the mother’s account, last Saturday in the city of Caaguazú, she left her baby lying down, while she went in to shower. However, hearing the girl’s moans, she went out to look at her and saw her ex-concubine in her room, he stretched her out and began to beat her, and then kicked their daughter.
The mother pointed out that she took the baby in her arms and took her to the District hospital from where she was referred to the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Asunción, but last night she finally died.
Doctors indicated that the baby showed signs of generalized septicemia and was malnourished.
After confirming the death of the baby, the immediate arrest of the man who was pointed out by the mother as the author of the act was ordered. However, the prosecutors stated that the investigation into the circumstances of the death continues and the participation of those responsible will be investigated.
