For its part, the executive director of the National Agency for Disability (Andis), Fernando Galarragasaid “compliance with comprehensive care for people with disabilities is a priority for the national government“, in response to relatives and providers who carry out a camp in the Plaza de Mayo.

From 2019 until now, we have reduced payment terms to providers from 90 to 45 daysGalarraga said in a statement.

“The issue of disability is always sensitive and worries families and that is why from the national government we want to bring peace of mind: the delay that occurred in payments to social works for disability benefits is being regularized from today”added the official.

“The delay of a week that was generated in the payments in the benefits that are financed from the Superintendency of Health Services and social works it was due to administrative inconveniences and they have already been solved”expanded the CEO of Andis.

This afternoon, the Andis issued a statement in which, “against unofficial versions”assured that “all the measures that are under study guarantee the financing of benefits for disability and that they continue to be provided by social projects”. “Different alternatives are constantly being analyzed in order to clean up and strengthen this system of disability benefits and that includes all the financiers of the system. It does not exclude anyone and less the Social Workswith whom people with disabilities and their families have a long and successful journey,” the agency said in the statement, adding: “We reject the journalistic versions and the campaigns that seek to confuse and generate uncertainty among people with disabilities, their families and the workers of the System.”

Camp in Plaza de Mayo

According to relatives who set up a white tent on Tuesday in Plaza de Mayo, “Social works are neglecting children with disabilities and they are not paying therapists at any center since May.”

“On August 30 and 31, all the disability centers will be striking in Plaza de Mayo”Rocío told the media and added that her 4-year-old son “has ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and today he is without treatment for this reason.”

held that “all children with disabilities are being harmed, family members and their therapists too.”

Galarraga explained that the integration mechanism establishes that “the Superintendency informs the AFIP of the liquidated totals assigned to each Social Work and then AFIP proceeds to collect from the collection account the necessary resources to cover said expenditure.”

“This process is ongoing given the dynamics of the collection, so that the collecting body proceeds to credit the total amount to each Social Work and payments of basic benefits for people with disabilities are made,” he explained.

Galarraga also reported that “in addition, we have arranged for directors of Andis to attend and make themselves available to expedite the most urgent procedures of the providers”and recalled that “when we assumed our responsibility, in 2020, many of the providers were burned out and had been more than six months behind in receiving their payments, we brought them up to date and we have given them an increase of 231%”.

In this sense, Galarraga affirmed that “In August we have given an increase of 25% in the tariff values, which consolidates an increase of 69% as of September, above inflation.”

Finally, he recalled “that these measures, along with other important ones such as advances in the Single Disability Certificate, the Accesar plan and the allocation of pensions are possible because there is a government that puts disability at the center of its agenda.”
