The Collective stressed that with this action it is evident that the administration of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo “is subjected to a very strong international pressure and internal pressurewhich comes above all from family members, with a view to respecting the human rights of those deprived of liberty, which evidently they have not done».
He reiterated that the presentation of the 10 political prisoners is “the result of internal pressure, pressure from their families and pressure from different mechanisms and organizations, which have been calling at all times for the immediate and unconditional release of political prisoners and also for respect for their rights and judicial guarantees.
Likewise, he described as “a publicity show” and “a marketing action” the images disclosed of the opponents by the regime’s official media.
The organization also demanded that the Ortega-Murillo administration present the other political prisoners who are in the Evaristo Vásquez Police Complex, known as “El nuevo Chipote”; and to the prisoners who remain in the different penitentiary centers of the country.
“That everyone be presented and especially the women, whose relatives have manifested greater impacts on their physical integrity,” he said.
In addition, he assured that with the images released by the regime “it is not possible, in any way, to be able to measure the damage” that has caused more than a year of confinement, torture, poor nutrition, isolation of political prisoners.
