The 18th Encarnación Book Fair “A new page” will be held from September 6 to 11 at the Sports Center of the Urban Campus of the Autonomous University of Encarnación (UNAE).
A few days before the great cultural festival, the preliminary cultural agenda is presented, promising a range of varied activities, presentations, theater, music and thousands of books. The opening will be on Tuesday 6 at 13:00. The official opening ceremony will be that same day at 18:00.
The event was declared of national educational interest by the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC), of cultural interest by the National Secretariat of Culture (SNC), of departmental interest by the Government of Itapúa, of municipal interest by the Municipality of Encarnación, of departmental educational interest by the Itapúa Departmental Directorate of Education.
The great book exhibition will be located in the institution’s sports center and will have 2 auditoriums, the Central Auditorium, located in the basement of the university, and the Bartomeu Meliá auditorium, located on the right side of the fairgrounds.
They have confirmed their presence with stands: Servilibro, El Lector, Divesper, Oceano, San Pablo, En Alianza, Arami Libros, Municipalidad de Encarnación, De la Paz, Marilú Musa, Nelson Aguilera, El libro en su casa, Jean Piaget, CCPA, Paulinas, Atlas, SEP, VLM Editions, UNAE.
An important delegation of writers will show off the cultural agenda: Alcibiades González Delvalle, Bernardo Neri Farina, José Daniel Hasta, Feliciano Acosta, Andrés Colmán Gutierrez, Maribel Barreto, Benjamín Fernández Bogado, Carlos Troche, Teresa Godoy, Alejandro Hernández, Lourdes Talavera, Nelson Aguilera, Maria Irma Betzel, Sergio Ferreria and many more nationally and locally.
Among the artists, the presence of Lizza Bogado, La Posadas Jugar Band, theater and ballet casts stands out. There will be storytelling, children’s theater, scientific experiences and attractions for the whole family. Access is free.
The Encarnación Book Fair is a university extension project that is carried out with the aim of promoting reading, books and writers. It is organized uninterruptedly by the Autonomous University of Encarnación since 2005.
