The national government, through the National Strategic Council for Health Emergencies, determined this Tuesday that the use of the chinstrap be optional in open spaces, in the face of the de-escalation of infections with Covid-19 in the fifth wave.

“We are not eliminating the use of the chinstrap, We are making biosafety measures more flexible, which will be beneficial to protect the health of the population. In addition, vaccination should be considered as the most effective prevention measure, “said the authority.

He explained that the chinstraps will continue to be mandatory in closed environments and that a recommendation was also sent to the Ministry of Labor, to return to the discontinuous modality.
