Bolsonaro says he will readjust civil servants' salaries in 2023

The candidate for re-election by the PL for the post of president, Jair Bolsonaro, said today (30) that in 2023 the government will make a readjustment for public servants, who have been frozen for three years. “We are going to do it responsibly, we are going to attend to the categories that have gone through difficult times, but I believe that with the non-competition, retirement [reforma da Previdência] and other things, we fit into the [lei de] responsibility for this extra that we are going to grant as a readjustment to the servers”, he said.Bolsonaro says he will readjust civil servants' salaries in 2023

According to the president, this includes the career restructuring and the Federal Highway Police (PRF). At the end of last year, Bolsonaro had promised to allocate an already foreseen amount of R$ 1.7 billion to readjust the salaries of federal security agents, which are precisely federal police officers, prison agents and federal highway police officers. However, civil servants in other careers reacted badly to the salary increase exclusively for the security forces and the government reassessed the proposal.

He also reaffirmed that the administrative reform sent by the government to Congress, which creates new links, does not interfere with the stability of current servers. “The proposal that is there is for the future servers and not for the current ones. We will respect the acquired right”.

The candidate participated, in Brasília, in the event Dialogues with Candidates for the Presidency of the Republic promoted by the National Union of Entities of Commerce and Services (UNECS). Before him, candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT) also spoke to representatives of the sector. Even today, candidate Soraya Thronicke (União) is expected to participate in the event. At the end, candidates will receive a document with the main demands of trade and services.

End of IPI

Bolsonaro also commented on the proposal by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, to zero the tax on Industrialized Products (IPI). “He says that, with this, he will seek the reindustrialization of our country. If we do not lower the tax burden, we are subject, via the border, to enter cheaper material [contrabando]. There is no magic word to solve this problem, solving it is taking the State off your back”, he told businessmen in the commerce and services sector.

According to the president, since the beginning of the government, the team has been working on reducing bureaucracy, simplifying and reducing the tax burden, in addition to improving the business environment. In the case of the IPI, the federal government has already managed to reduce by up to 35% the value of the tax charged on most products manufactured in the country, with the exception of part of those manufactured in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. According to Bolsonaro, the desire is to reach 50% by the end of the year.
