Welfare allocated almost 200 thousand pesos to social programs

During this year, the federal government provided almost 200 billion pesos in support to more than 11 million people and their families through social programs consolidated as rights of the people and that will continue in 2022 with a guaranteed budget, reported the Ministry of Welfare.

The focus of the programs was to serve the poorest and most vulnerable groups, including indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples, in a strategy without intermediaries and without corruption, the agency said.

By breaking down the programs, he specified that 11 million 274 thousand 529 older adults, people with permanent disabilities, minors children of working mothers, as well as farmers from Sembrando Vida benefited, with an investment of 199 thousand 877 million pesos.

The agency highlighted that the pension for the elderly closed the year with 9 million 568 thousand beneficiaries and an investment of 151 thousand 263 million pesos.

He recalled that, by presidential instruction, the pension for the elderly in 2021 was increased to 3,100 pesos every two months; In addition, it began to be delivered universally from the age of 65.

Meanwhile, the Pension for the Welfare of People with Permanent Disabilities concluded with 965 thousand 747 beneficiaries, in whose support 17 billion pesos were invested. Help 450 thousand farmers

In turn, the Sembrando Vida program has a registry of 450 thousand 99 sowers, who were paid a daily wage of 5 thousand pesos per month –of which, 500 are used for savings–, which implied a budget of 28 thousand 930 million pesos.

The agency mentioned that Sembrando Vida was extended this year to Guerrero, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Morelos and Hidalgo, five of the 20 states where the plan reforests more than one million hectares with 1.1 billion trees.

The Support Program for Girls and Boys, Children of Working Mothers closed 2021 with 290,683 beneficiaries and an investment of 2,684 million pesos.
