London, Aug 30 (EFE).- The pain for the abrupt death of Diana of Wales in Paris 25 years ago generated greater complicity among their children, William and Enrique, a tune that does not exist today attributed to the irruption in the British royal family of the American Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
In a country that is going through uncertain times waiting to find out who will be its new prime minister after the resignation of Boris Johnson and plunged into a crisis due to the increase in the cost of living, the memory of Lady Di is still present, although every time more blurred.
The two sons of the Princess of Wales and the heir to the throne, Charles of England, were raised to support each other within corseted palatial surroundings. That relationship was strengthened when they lost their mother in a tragic car accident in Paris on August 30, 1997.
That setback marked the princes, who were then only 15 and 12 years old.
Since then, both have blamed the “paparazzi” for what happened and have never hidden the animosity caused by the perpetual media harassment of members of royalty.
Facing the gallery, Diana’s death was particularly difficult for her young son to cope with. Years later, Enrique himself would admit that he needed psychological therapy to manage his emotions.
MEGHAN’S BREAKTHROUGH
Prince William married his roommate from his time at university in St Andrews (Scotland), Catherine Middleton, with whom he has three children, Prince George, Charlotte and Louis, and she soon became his brother-in-law. a brotherly figure or, in the words of Enrique himself, in the «sister he never had».

Their move to California, where they live in an impressive mansion with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, was not a pleasant dish either, but the straw that broke the camel’s back was the explosive interview granted in March 2021 to an American television program in which the couple aired dirty laundry on the royal family.
Among other pearls to remember, Enrique and Meghan revealed “racist” behavior by some member of the Royal House of the United Kingdom, they told how she had suicidal thoughts shortly after her wedding and did not receive support from the royal family, while Enrique recounted his “disappointment” with his father’s behavior.
That “betrayal” of the Dukes of Sussex further undermined the battered relationship between the brothers, increasingly damaged, although the princes saw each other again at the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, in April 2021.
