Domingo de Obaldía referred to the credit for the 25% discount to retirees in restaurants

This Monday morning, Domingo de Obaldía, a member of the Association of Restaurants and Related of Panama, discussed compliance with the Income Tax deductible after benefiting retirees, pensioners, the third and fourth age with a discount.

He recalled that, in compliance with Law 6 of June 16, 1987, which establishes a benefit for retirees, pensioners, the elderly and fourth age, hotels and restaurants in Panama apply a 25% discount on the value of individual consumption of food and 50% discount on the regular prices of hotels, motels and pensions (between Monday and Thursday) and 30% on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

He mentioned that for 35 years the union has had approaches with the Government to define the negotiation of the regulation of the tax credit in discounts for retirees, detailing that on September 6 they will meet with the DGI to improve this regulation, and that this credit can be given adequately, through electronic invoicing.

“The idea of electronic invoicing for us is important, because what we want to achieve is that they give the identity card number and the problem is over (as it happens with the fuel subsidy and others),” explained De Obaldía.
