The Ambassador Armando Benedetti was accredited this Monday as Colombian ambassador to Venezuela by the Administration of Nicolás Maduro, in a step that formalizes the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Benedetti was received by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría on Monday, who handed him their respective diplomatic letters. The former senator arrived in Caracas this Sunday to comply with established regulations.
He said that, among one of his first actions, is reopen the consulates in Caracas, Maracaibo and San Cristóbal.
