They hurt a truck driver with pellets after being attacked by hooded men in Ercilla: he is out of risk of life

A truck driver was injured with pellets after he was attacked by hooded men who tried to stop his car on Route 5 Sur, in the Ercilla commune, La Araucanía region.

According to preliminary information provided by Emol, the hooded men put a truck in the middle of the road and then burned it to create a barricade. They then tried to stop the truck, but the driver objected, so they started firing, receiving pellets hitting his left shoulder.

In this regard, the presidential delegate of La Araucanía, Víctor Manoli, said that the victim was transferred to Cesfam in Ercilla and later to the Victoria Hospital. The subject is out of life risk.

“A truck was set on fire where some individuals were traveling with their faces covered. They stopped the truck, crossed it, set fire to it and later tried to stop a truck, and when the truck did not stop they shot him, hitting the pellets in the left shoulder (… ) Thank God we did not have to regret serious consequences, “said Manoli.

The regional authority believes that this event could be a “distracting maneuver”, since two forest fires are being fought in the area.
