The infections caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Sunday, August 28, totaled 57 in Cuba, according to the part published today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
The highest figures were reported from the provinces of Holguín (18) and Granma (11). On the contrary, Artemisa, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality were free of infections.

In total, 392 people remained hospitalized due to COVID-19; of these, 142 were suspected cases and 243 confirmed active. In intensive care rooms, a bedridden patient was registered due to this pandemic. There were 59 discharges.
The laboratories processed 1797 samples and, of the positive ones, 45 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases while 21 added the patients in whom the cause of the infection was not specified. There were no imported cases.
By age ranges, infections continue to predominate in those under 20 years of age, with 37 on the day. In addition, 12 corresponded to the range between 20 and 39 years old, four to 40 to 59 years old and four were also over 60.
By sex, 36 of the patients correspond to the female and 21 to the male.
The fatalities of COVID-19 remain at 8,530 as no deaths were reported this day either. The lethality is 0.77%.
