Artistic producer of the event for the Approval in Valparaíso: “I am responsible for each of the moments displayed on stage”

Nelson Rojas, artistic producer of “Aprobe Transformar” —responsible for the event that took place on August 27 in Valparaíso, where the controversial presentation of “Las Indetectables” took place—, issued a public statement in which he indicated that it is his total responsibility for having invited the group in question “ignoring the details of its staging”.

“The task that I had to perform was the artistic production of the event. In this sense, I assumed the task of managing, coordinating and designing the artistic grid that resulted in an event where different artistic expressions from Valparaíso and other cities converged, together with an audience that filled the Plaza Victoria”, commented Nelson Rojas, in the letter, highlighting that the event had other great artists such as Quilapayún and Mauricio Redolés.

“Different generations were able to see and appreciate great artists giving the best of their creations; only one of these was the one that reverberated in the media as it was a performance that could violate the gaze of children and adolescents and the respectable public. I understand that it was not the time or the context to develop that presentation, “he added. And she declared: “It is my total responsibility to have invited the group in question to participate, ignoring the details of its staging on this occasion.”

The producer wanted to make it clear that if he was not aware of the presentation of “Las Indetectables”, less were the people who organized the event, reiterating that he is responsible for each of the moments displayed on stage. And he added: “I want to declare that all the accusations against ‘Apruebo Transformar’, authorities, cheerleaders Alejandra Valle and Irina La Loca, friends and compañer@s are totally unfounded.”

“Art often messes us up, is misbehaved and irreverent,” he concluded.

Nelson Rojas’s statement was shared by the mayor of Valparaiso Jorge Sharp. “The statement explains what happened and realizes that neither the organizers nor the animators knew in advance the type of intervention that the group in question would carry out.”

It is worth mentioning that the event in Valparaíso was not organized by the Approval command made up of the ruling parties, but rather was managed by the “Approve Transformar” command, made up of former constituents who are in favor of the slogan “Approve without conditions” and where most were part of the Plurinational Coordinator of the Convention. They are members, along with the mayor of Buenos Aires, Manuel Woldarsky, Tania Madriaga, Francisca Linconao and Eric Chinga.
