The Secretary of Citizen Security of Caroní reported that at approximately 6:00 am this Sunday, August 28, there was an explosion due to a gas leak in apartments of the Las Palmeras Residential Complex in Puerto Ordaz, Caroní municipality, Bolívar state.
Through a message on Twitter, the entity confirmed that at least 12 people were injured, they have burns and open wounds. They were transferred to the Uyapar Hospital.

According to El Pitazo, neighbors reported that the blast wave reached some buildings located about 400 meters. “The shock woke me up. When I looked out what I saw was a cloud of dust and everyone ran out to see what was happening. We got to the tower that exploded and everything was destroyed. When I returned to my residence I realized that our windows were also broken,” said an informant.
