José Nenil Medina would have ordered the transfer of municipal funds to the account of Hugo Espino

mayor of Anguía (Chota, Cajamarca), ordered the transfer of municipal funds to the account of the person under investigation according to the Punto Final report.

The amount collected under this modality could reach S/ 80,000 per year, the report pointed out.

In that sense, citizen Clarissa Chávez Guevara denied that her husband, Edwin Medina Guerrero, who is the mayor’s cousin and who is an alleged beneficiary of S / 1,000 for health issues, has received such financial support.

It should be noted that Espino before the prosecution mentioned that “José Nenil Medina Guerrero always came to the Breña office to see the progress of the files and coordinate deposits he made to my account. He previously told me to open one in Caja Piura, since in Tacabamba there is that entity and Banco de la Nación”.

In this context, Latina obtained documents from the deposits made by Anguía officials. One of them is Genebrardo Cabrera Delgado, coordinator of said municipality, who paid Espino’s account, in Caja Piura, amounts of S/ 6,000, S/ 7,000 and S/ 12,000.

While, Danny Chávez Saldaña, from the logistics area of ​​the municipality, deposited S/ 1,500 and Alindor García Olivera did so with S/ 7,600.

Also Thalía Gálvez Mejía, from the secretarial area, made transfers to Espino’s bank account for S/ 4,200, S/ 2,000 and S/ 9,500.

How close are Hugo Espino and Nenil Medina?

Hugo Espino told the Public Ministry that he met José Nenil Medina Guerrero when they were both preparing to enter the National University of Engineering (UNI) in 2010. Later, both entered said university and saw each other there on different occasions.

Then, he indicated that in 2019 he did consulting work related to the preparation of a sanitation file for the District Municipality of Anguía.

For his part, Osberto Irigoín Vásquez, manager of the Municipality of Anguía, maintained that he had seen Espino twice in the municipality.
