Colorados once again lash out at Fenapes for a cartoon used in the "Yes" campaign

The National Federation of Teachers of Secondary Education (Fenapes) published this December 25 an image in which a popular cartoon is seen on Twitter, known as “Señor Propios”, which supposedly refers to José Batlle y Ordoñez, and this sparked controversy with the Colorado Party.

The character wears sunglasses and a mask and carries a sign that says “# VotaSí”, and the hashtag “#EducarNOLUCrar” can be read on the mask.

One of the first to jump out with criticism was the Colorado deputy, Felipe Schipani, who said: “Pepe D’Elía must be rolling in his grave with this class of union leaders.” From Fenapes they responded: “Imagine what Pepe D’Elia would think without a legislator with a notorious anti-union campaign, he evokes him on December 25 by a drawing of a man wearing a mask” (along with an emoji of a man shrugging his shoulders ”.

“They not only mock a ruling from the Electoral Court, they are aggressive, they are insulting. They make fun of the Colorado Party and its history. Those who manage this account are teachers, they are the same ones who give it to our kids. It is unfortunate and impoverishing, ”snapped Deputy María Eugenia Rosselló.
