Before this announcement, Jorge García Gómez, representative of the Public Ministry; José Dionicio, defense of Yenifer Paredes; and Martín Silva, José Medina’s lawyer, accepted the provision proposed by the Judiciary.
According to the thesis of the Prosecutor’s Office, Yenifer Paredes and José Nenil Medina are accused of participating in a criminal organization that operates from the Government Palace and would be directed by President Pedro Castillo himself. In it, the president’s sister-in-law would play the role of lobbyist, while the mayor of Anguía would have played the role of figurehead.
