On Sunday morning, the second day of the International Qualifying Festival for the Odesur Games was held. In the 3,000-meter hurdle race, Rody Arrúa, a military personnel, finished first followed, in second place, by Santiago Ortega of the PAC.
Rody Arrúa is a military personnel and non-commissioned officer of the third, he was representing the Paraguayan Navy. He pointed out that he still does not know if he will participate in the Odesur Games, since that is subject to other results. «The competition was difficult due to the gusts of wind. That makes it impossible to keep the pace you want. Our country is doing well for the next international competition », he commented.
Santiago Ortega, PAC runner, who finished in second place, also stated that the competition was very difficult due to the strong winds. “I want to thank everyone who came out to support us. To the club also for being able to allow me to represent them. At the moment I am in second place in the ranking of the 3000 with obstacles. Today my teammate Rody made his debut in the distance and stretched me almost the entire race, I came from an injury and that’s what I was able to do today. I am satisfied with the result, I have improved a few seconds. The faith is intact to represent the country. We know that those who will come from outside will not do it for a walk, so we are going to try to give everything that we can and what we cannot », he concluded.
