Evo attacks the Santa Cruz institutions and independent media

Former President Evo Morales attacked Santa Cruz institutions and linked them to the ghost item corruption scandal. He also crashed against the independent media and praised the work of migrants arriving in the department of Santa Cruz.

“Santa Cruz stands up for the migrants. It is called the zone of national integration. All the departments are in Santa Cruz, like the tropic of Cochabamba which was the synthesis of the poverty of Bolivia. Santa Cruz is large and the tropic in miniature” defined Morales in his radio space on Sundays.

“The merchants, transporters, make efforts, fighting, working, take out loans and those violent oligarchic groups make strikes just to rob the people. I realize that for that they want autonomy and federalism, to continue stealing, not only in the mayor’s office, but in the cooperatives, in the Caja “he attacked what he called the” Santa Cruz institutional model. “

“The real institutional fraud is in Santa Cruz, the lodges that are now facing each other, in the competition of who steals more, with companies doing politics and stealing money from the people,” he condemned on his radio space.

The supposed fight of “lodges” in Santa Cruz is a new narrative that the MAS tries to position and also wants to impose the post-truth that the resources of the phantom items were used to finance the supposed “coup” against Evo Morales in 2019 although there is no proof of these accusations.

The Minister of Public Works, Édgar Montaño, affirmed yesterday that the money generated by the ghost items in the Mayor’s Office of Santa Cruz supposedly would have served to pay for citizen mobilizations.

“I am a victim of these phantom items, several people from Santa Cruz have been victims of these phantom items. These gentlemen appeared in our houses, took our homes and we saw financial resources of 500, 300 bolivianos and there it is, the result was that, from the Mayor’s Office, from the Governor’s Office, they were attacking our right to freedom, to free expression, “he said.

Morales followed the script and this morning in Kawsachun Coca. He called for an investigation into whether those resources really served to finance the protests against him after the electoral fraud of October 2019.

“The items are not the entire department. It belongs to the group of oligarchic politicians who turn democracy into mamocracy. They are 30, 40, 50 years of false democracy, of that Santa Cruz institutional model,” Morales repudiated.

“We no longer need Unitel, network One … Page Seven”

Morales, characterized by his rejection of the work of the independent media in Bolivia, considered that in Bolivia media such as Unitel and Página Siete are no longer needed.

“With the march we did (from Caracollo to La Paz) it has been shown that we no longer need media such as Unitel, the Uno network, PAT, El Deber or Página Siete,” he said on his rostrum.

He pondered the impact of the social networks of radio Kawsachun Coca, although in 2016 he defined social media as “sewers”. “It will be a matter of debate next year, we will see to strengthen the networks in each department. We no longer need to put advertising spots on Unitel or Red Uno. They who continue to lie, people realize it,” he said.

During his government, Morales economically asphyxiated independent media by removing the state advertising guideline and rewarding the chains or media biased with his administration.
