The national government is analyzing the situation of automotive passenger transport, having verified that there are no problems in daytime services, despite the fact that only 80% of the units available to the companies circulate, said government sources.

“There are no waits or lines; long lines are not seen in the news at transfer centers like in Constitución, for example, and passengers travel normally during peak hours,” the informants told Télam.

According to the data provided by the National Commission for Transport Regulation (CNRT), 18,400 groups make up the total mobile fleet declared in the AMBA.

According to data from the SUBE system, 3.7 million passengers were mobilized in August, when 4.5 million did so in the pre-pandemic.

Thus, the sources stressed, although the total declared vehicle fleet is the same as in 2019, there are 800 thousand fewer passengers in 2022.

Regarding the payment of subsidies, they added, this month compensations were paid for almost 24,000 million pesos, of which 12,000 million pesos were in charge of the national State.

These funds were allocated to 389 bus lines from more than 200 bus companies, many of which were grouped into large business groups.

As regards the payment of subsidies, they added, compensation for almost 24,000 million pesos was paid this month.

According to sources, of the 9,500 units of the more than 130 lines that circulate in the City of Buenos Aires, some 7,800 have provided daytime service in recent days, almost 20% less.

For this reason, from the national State they consider that there would be an oversize of 20 percent, they added.

The reduction of services ordered by the companies is due to a national State debt of 11,000 million pesospending since the departure of Martín Guzmán from the Ministry of Economy, by not transferring the items to Ministries and organizations, in addition to small debts accumulated from other months.

That debt is being canceled week by week within the framework of the reorganization that is being carried out and means less than a month as debt itself.

Within that debt, more than 20% corresponds to the lack of payments from the City of Buenos Aires for the 32 lines that circulate in that autonomous territory.

This week, despite the fact that the national State paid 3,900 million pesos, the companies maintain the removal of frequencies, the sources recalled.

Given this, the CNRT reinforced the controls on the violations of the daily regimes of day and night frequencies in the services.

Thus, the CNRT made 106 infraction acts that can reach 18,030,600 pesos for non-compliance with services and frequencies.
