The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that on Friday, August 26, 60 new infections of COVID-19 in the country, thanks to the analysis of 1770 samples.
In his most recent part, The health agency points out that there were no deaths related to the disease on the day, so the figure of 8,530 deaths since the start of the pandemic and the case fatality rate of 0.77% remains the same.

It also transpired that 413 people are currently hospitalized, of which 180 are suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus, while the number of confirmed active people is set at 233.
Among the new patients, 37 are women and 23 are men, and of the total 42 were contacts of confirmed cases, two were infected abroad, and the source of infection of 16 patients had not been identified.
As for ages, 39 of the newly diagnosed are under 20 years old, a dozen are between 20 and 39 years old, five are between 40 and 59 years old, and four are over 60 years old.
The provinces of Pinar Del Río, Mayabeque and Villa Clara, as well as the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud did not report cases on the day, while Holguín (19) was the only one that exceeded ten infections.
The Minsap also reported that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries were maintained, while 71 medical discharges were granted on the day.
In turn, only one patient received care in intensive care units in the country, this one reported in serious condition.
