The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro urged the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, on Saturday night to “immediately cease this authoritarian and anti-democratic provocation” in Recoleta, where protesters remain in support of the vice president. Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
“That a local police force restricts the freedom of a vice president by besieging her home is serious and has no precedent in the history of our country,” the official wrote on his Twitter account.
In that sense, he stated: “I urge the head of government @horaciorlarreta to immediately cease this authoritarian and anti-democratic provocation.”
The protesters remained this Saturday night in the vicinity of the vice president’s home after the incidents that began after a group of protesters knocked down the fences that this morning were arranged by police officers, who in the afternoon threw water from trucks fire hydrants and tear gas on the crowd.
