More than 200 units of the National Police, together with the Public Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes of Illicit Association, carried out “Operation Sinaí” this Thursday morning in the Altos de Los Lagos sector, province of Colón, with the aim to dismantle a criminal structure dedicated to gang activity.
The Deputy Director General of the National Police, Simón Henríquez, explained that so far 11 people have been apprehended related to the alleged crime of gang activity.
Simultaneously, operations were carried out in what is the Casco of the province of Colón, where six people were captured in nine raids. Of these six, three were linked to the alleged crime of intentional homicide, another for aggravated robbery, attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
In addition, an uzi-type semi-automatic weapon with two magazines was recovered.
Among those arrested is alias “Cholo Cai Cai”, one of the alleged leaders of this criminal organization. The same was kept in one of the raided apartments in Altos de Los Lagos.
According to data from the Public Ministry, most of those captured belong to the gang known as “Real Ganster 4 Life” or “G4”.
Operation Sinaí contemplated more than 20 raids in sectors of Altos de Los Lagos, Puerto Escondido and the Casco de Colón.
