After yesterday the arrest of the representative of Isla Grande, in the province of Colón, Dimas Melchor Menchaca, through the “Fire” operation, his mother Casimira Menchaca Berrío assured that he is a good man and that the media and social networks are only replicating what prosecutors and members of the National Police reported and not reality.
Menchaca Berrío, went on the morning of this Friday, August 26, to the headquarters of the Accusatory Penal System where the arrest legalization hearing is being held today and assured that his son does not even know what they are accusing him of and revealed that the authorities came to the house asking where there was money, weapons, clothing and drugs, but that in the end the raid did not find anything, because the only thing they took were cell phones and a laptop owned by her grandson’s partner.
“They came asking about weapons, money and drugs, but what did they find? They found nothing, nothing,” he said.
In statements offered to Radio Panama, Menchaca Berrío assured that the only person to whom he has shown his face and placed his name in the media is his son and alleges that this is because he is a politician, for which he urged those who seek to “harm” their son wait for the elections to go to the polls and fight in that instance.
“My son is a pelao’ that everyone knows him and the people want to come here (to defend him),” he said.
As for whether Melchor Menchaca lived in a mansion, she assures that her son’s house was built when he was 17 years old because he started his family early and that this residence is not the product of illegal acts or politics.
“He has worked all his life for his own and on the right path because we here do not accept to date that he goes down a crooked path,” he stressed.
