The Minister of Agriculture, Cecilia Lopez Montano, launched this Thursday an energetic call to the peasants of the country to stop the invasion of productive lands in private hands, and asked that the Constitution and the laws be respected.
(Cecilia López warns that they will carry out agrarian reform in the Petro government).
“A basic issue is that we have to respect our Constitution, we have to do it within the legal order that exists in the country. This is a critical message, it’s not invading land, no forgiveness. They have a Government committed to giving them access to what they deserve to carry out these local agro-industrial projects, but respecting the Law, respecting the institutional framework”said the minister during a visit to San Miguel (Putumayo).
According to Lopez, this Government is committed to giving them access to what they deserve to have local agro-industrial projectsbut assured that the Law must be respected, which is why it is planned to carry out an Agrarian Reform in which assets seized by the State will be redistributed.
This scolding was launched after a new case of invasion of private property was reported a few days ago, when about 150 people occupied a cattle and palm farm located in the municipality of Curumaní, in the department of Cesar.
Faced with this situation, the Agricultural Committee of César held a peaceful demonstration and asked the authorities to be careful with the messages that are being sent regarding the land.

The reason is that the group of people who invaded the farm said that it was a committee in favor of land claims and that they were taking the farm because they needed it to work.
“People are taking it as a business has been presented to them”Joaquín Tomás Ovalle, president of the committee, assured EL TIEMPO.
In the department of Cauca, land invasions by indigenous people have also been denounced, in private properties of sugar cane producers in Caloto, Guachené and Miranda, among others, which do not belong to the large sugar mills.
Minister Cecilia López, since taking office, has said that an agrarian reform will be carried out and that with the continuation of the deployment of the multipurpose cadastre, taxes will correspond much more to the productive capacity of the land.
