The Polish attacker of Olympique de Marseille, Arkadiusz Milik, was loaned for one season with a purchase option to Juventus, both clubs officially announced this Friday.
For this loan, until June 30, 2023, the Italian entity will disburse the French team at least 900,000 euros (899,000 dollars), an amount that can increase up to 1.7 million euros (1.69 million dollars) depending on of the “sporting objectives”, achieved, according to Juve, which could sign the player definitively in a year for 7 million euros (6.99 million dollars).
Milik, 28, is familiar with Serie A having played for Napoli for four and a half seasons (from summer 2016 to January 2021).
The Polish striker left an image of a goalscorer in the south of Italy (38 goals in 93 games), despite suffering two serious knee injuries and being out of the group for six months before his departure to Olympique de Marseille for having refused to renew his contract.
At Marseille, Milik scored 20 goals last season in all competitions but had strained relations with Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli.
The arrival on the bench of the Croatian Igor Tudor did not get him to stay in the French team, which the Chilean Alexis Sánchez has just joined.
With Milik (19 Champions League games and 8 goals), Juventus, who will face Paris SG in the Champions League group stage, reinforces the forward lead by 22-year-old Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.
