The political analyst Jaime Porcell, delved this Thursday into the statements of the presiding magistrate of the Court of Accounts, Alberto Cigarruista, who expressed that “in this country, to generalize we all steal, I have had and am having the experience in the Court of Accounts; the doctor, the lawyer, the engineer, the architect, the businessman, the primary school principal steal, we all steal”.
In Porcell’s opinion, this comment by Cigarruista is a cry of warning where the paths of our way of living, of coexistence and of our ethics are taking.
He assured that here in Panama stealing is like a kind of institution. “We are talking about light stealing, like the official who sits in her position and starts talking on the cell phone, that is stealing time from the State,” she explained.
Porcell considered that it should be hoped that the next generation will come “the best” and not commit this type of behavior or actions such as corruption.
