Alexander Sanchez Sanchezowner of the house in the Sarratea de Breña passage, confirmed that he kept a meeting with the former Vice Minister of Housing and Urbanism elizabeth anos, in a house in Surquillo. However, he denied that the management of public works had been discussed at said meeting.
“Yes, there has been the meeting, but there has been no crime. If it had been what she has come out to affirm right now, being a state worker, why didn’t she file a complaint the next day, the third or a week? She just waits several months to go out and talk. She is committing a crime. If she saw that we were committing acts of corruption, why did she report it?” Sánchez told RPP.
According to statements by a protected witness from the Prosecutor’s Office, the meeting took place at the request of President Pedro Castillo. ‘Los Chiclayanos’ were present: Abel Cabrera; the mayor of Anguía, Jose Nenil Medinaand the head of the advisory cabinets of the Ministry of Housing, Salatiel Marrufo. The then Vice Minister Añaños and the head of the Budget of the aforementioned portfolio also participated, Jacqueline Castaneda del Castillo.
“There was never any talk of directing works. (What did they go for?) It was just a conversation there. (…) Works were never talked about, at no time was there any talk of directing works”, added Sánchez Sánchez.
“I was not interested (in works of the Ministry of Housing), I was in that place and the ladies just arrived. I did not even know that I was deputy minister and that is why there was a conversation, ”insisted the owner of the address where President Pedro Castillo would have held unofficial meetings at the beginning of his government.
