The Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royon, reported that the extension of the cut to 12.5% biodiesel It will be for 60 days.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Royon stressed that “together with the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahíllo, we promised to carry out joint and permanent work, with the aim of promoting the development of the sector.”

In this framework, he reported that “the extension of the cut to 12.5% biodiesel will be for 60 days.”

During Wednesday afternoon, the official had anticipated the decision to extend the validity of the 12.5% biodiesel cut, a measure that expired last August 16 and was initially implemented two months ago to increase the supply of diesel in the local market.

Last June, the national government decided to permanently increase the biodiesel cut with gas oil from 5% to 7.5% so that it is provided by SMEs in this sector, with the aim of increasing the supply of fuel in the face of problems of shortages that occurred at that time.

In addition, provisionally for two months, it decided to increase the cut by an extra five percentage points, up to 12.5%, and enabled biodiesel exporting companies to participate in the provision.
