The movies Strawberry and Chocolate, esther somewhere Y The oldest will be part of a Cuban film festival planned to take place in France next year, announced Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop).
With efforts still underway, the association specified that the event, to be held from June 3 to 11, 2023 in Vitry-sur-Seine, is coordinated by authorities of that commune in the Parisian region and the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry ( ICAIC).
Several of the films in theaters, some of which have yet to be confirmed for screening, will be screened for the first time in France, where there is no known history in recent years of a festival of this magnitude dedicated to Cuban cinema.
The official opening will take place on September 11, 2023 at the traditional Fête de l’Humanité. The organizers plan to create an Internet site with information about the Cuban film festival, details of the participating films and their protagonists.
Since 1995, the association has been working to support Cuba’s development with projects that include the cultural sector. Among these, the inauguration, in 2005, of the House of Victor Hugo in Havana stands out.
