The gang ‘El Tren de Aragua’, was born about a decade ago in the state of Aragua and its creators were members of a union for the construction of a train in that region, they would have dedicated themselves to extorting contractors and selling jobs in the works. According to sources consulted by Caracol Radio in the neighboring country, the Aragua train would have 2,700 members and its activities have not been limited to Venezuela, in recent years they have expanded to other countries in the region such as Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Chile. and Bolivia. In Colombia, this organization began operating on the border between Táchira and Norte de Santander and more recently they arrived in Bogotá where they would be fighting against other gangs for control of the drug trafficking business.
