Colombia should not depend on another country for energy: Petro

President Gustavo Petro spoke about the issue of energy after finishing his meeting with the head of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.

Petro said that he coincides with the position of former president Álvaro Uribe, since Colombia should not depend on another country for energy.

(Reset the map and include another department, a new idea from Petro).

Unlike the European Union, which categorizes gas as a green fuel, the president pointed out that “gas is still a fossil fuel.”

There is an inability to reach the level of clean energy that is needed today, precisely to save humanity and that makes countries dependent on fossil fuels“, he added.

(What is known about the attack on the presidential outpost in Catatumbo).

Therefore, for Petro, the nations of South America must join forces to build a common power gridfrom Alazka to Patagonia, and thus “not depend on that country or on ourselves, but all of America. America would depend on all of America.”
