With two wounds caused by a knife, a man was found dead at his home located in the residential neighborhood of the municipality of Cotoca. The Police removed the body and transferred it to the Pampa de la Isla judicial morgue for autopsy, while his wife was arrested for investigative purposes.
The victim is a 62-year-old man identified as Gregorio Parapaino Suárez, a driver who was known among his neighbors as someone calm, hard-working and who always used to accompany his partner.
The police chief of Cotoca, Colonel Javier Lora, indicated that initially an aggravated robbery was reported, for which the police officers were dispatched to initiate the investigations; however, upon arrival at the building they found the man lifeless, notifying the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) to remove the body.
“At 11:00 p.m. they told us that there was a robbery, but they did not report the presence of a dead person; we constituted ourselves in the place and we realized that it was not only the robbery, the case is in full investigation stage, although we have several hypotheses, “said Lora.
Moreover, in Police facilities is the partner of the elderly man, who was arrested for investigative purposes, since the woman would have provided contradictory information. During the morning of this Thursday, she will provide her informative statement to the police and the assigned prosecutor.
The two wounds that the man presents are at the height of the right scapula (shoulder blade) that was provoked by a knife.
The neighbors of the deceased lamented the fact and took advantage of the presence of the police to demand more patrols in the area, since they have been suffering robberies for a long time.
They reported an alleged robbery in the building where the elderly man was found dead.
