The construction of the access ramp to the Puente Héroes del Chaco viaduct is being carried out on the Costanera Norte de Asunción, where the area is currently being filled with sand, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported.
The work is carried out in a section of 140 meters and is part of the integration of the bridge with the Botanical Road Corridor and its connections with the capital and the Central department.
The Bridge will have an extension of 7 kilometers, of which 4,800 meters correspond to the road section that joins the viaduct on the right bank (Chaco’ i) with the Falcón-Remanso route. The access viaduct to the Western Region will be 1,519 meters long, while the Costanera Norte will be 487 meters long.
This physical union between Asunción and the Paraguayan Chaco is promoted by the National Government through the Public Works portfolio, while the construction is in charge of the Union Consortium, made up of two Paraguayan companies.
The completion of the works is scheduled for the first half of 2023, and once the new passage is enabled, it will serve to cross a large number of vehicles, which will be able to decompress the congested Remanso bridge.
