Ministry of the Interior launched an operation for the "Night of Nostalgia"

The launch of the security operations for the “Noche de la Nostalgia” took place this Wednesday 24 in the afternoon on the esplanade of the Montevideo Summer Theater with a symbolic presentation of mobile phones and personnel belonging to the units that will participate. of these.

In this sense, authorities from the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police were present where the director of Coexistence and Citizen Security, Santiago González, highlighted that 1,200 troops will be involved in these police tasks throughout the country.

González pointed out that the tasks will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will continue throughout the morning with presence at parties, dance venues and where there is a concentration of people to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

In addition to preventive patrolling, the Police will carry out controls for alcohol, THC and cocaine, for which the chief sent a message to drivers to avoid driving under the influence of these and prevent accidents.

The participating units are the Police Headquarters throughout the country, the Republican Guard, Police Aviation Directorate, Highway Police, Firefighters and the Unified Command Center, among others.
